{"id":48917,"date":"2024-08-12T09:51:31","date_gmt":"2024-08-12T13:51:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tourismebromont.com\/engagement-2030\/"},"modified":"2025-03-06T16:43:30","modified_gmt":"2025-03-06T21:43:30","slug":"engagement-2030","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/tourismebromont.com\/en\/engagement-2030\/","title":{"rendered":"2030 Pledge\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The City of Bromont, through the Tourism Development Department, has signed the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sustainabletourism2030.com\/pledge\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge<\/a>, to demonstrate our commitment to improving our sustainability performance indicator by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The World Tourism Organization defines sustainable tourism as &#8220;tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment and host communities&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each year, we are committed to measuring and improving our sustainability performance in the following ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Analyze the impact of tourism on Bromont&#8217;s<\/strong> quality of life, infrastructures and greenhouse gases, and plan mitigation strategies to achieve a balance and reduce negative impacts;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote <strong>eco-responsible practices<\/strong> (e.g., events and local purchasing):\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Adopt a policy and incentives to encourage zero-waste events and patronage for the development of environmental, economic, social and cultural projects;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Continue efforts to <strong>preserve natural environments<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Develop and implement a plan to acquire and preserve natural areas;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These actions are part of the commitments of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bromont.net\/services-aux-citoyens\/developpement-durable\/je-mengage-2020-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">City of Bromont&#8217;s Sustainable Development Plan<\/a> and its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bromont.net\/administration-municipale\/planification-strategique-2023-2033\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Strategic Planning<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:8px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Our tourism partners are, for the most part, committed to a sustainable approach.
