Hélène and Mathieu from Dinette Magazine take you on a tour of the town of Bromont to visit their favorite farm and garden stands.
It is no coincidence that this Bromont-based couple published the cookbook Abondance this summer—a true ode to our gardens.

What better than a gourmet getaway along Bromont’s country roads? We stopped by the must-visit spots in our beautiful town to stock up on fresh, local products and meet the people who grow, transform, and showcase them.
Here are our local must-visits:
Les Jardins de la Marmotte
This small-scale vegetable farm was established in 2020. Today, Les Jardins de la Marmotte grows over 35 varieties of organic herbs and vegetables. Their approach focuses on soil regeneration, biodiversity, and the preservation of heirloom varieties.
We were especially charmed by the Yukina, a type of rapini with beautiful flowers that bees peacefully visit. If you stop by the farm, you will likely meet David, the gardener behind the project—a true enthusiast. At the self-serve stand, you will find everything freshly harvested from the fields. We love it!
Fromagerie Brebis de Bromont
Nadya and Matvei chose Bromont as their home in 2019. Since 2024, they have been transforming their sheep’s milk into artisanal cheeses, including a delicious Romanian-inspired feta and a creamy sheep’s milk yogurt.
When the shop is closed, you can still purchase their products at the self-serve stand located directly on the farm. Visitors can even watch the sheep roam freely in the fields.
Coming soon: a terrace will be set up in the meadows, where you can enjoy wine and cheese with your feet in the grass. A dream come true.
La Récolte des Cantons
Here, lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumbers are grown in greenhouses year-round. You’ll also find a beautiful variety of seasonal vegetables grown in the fields, such as squash, asparagus, garlic, and fresh blueberries.
La Récolte des Cantons is also home to a stunning modern shop with the charm of old-time markets, blending a farmhouse feel with antiques sourced from local dealers. In addition to their own harvest, the shop carries a wide range of local products: pickles, cheeses, flours, jams, and much more! It’s like a true neighborhood grocery store—farm style!
We met the owner, Benjamin, who gave us a tour of his facilities. Visiting the greenhouses was so impressive! We saw hydroponically grown lettuce, as well as cucumbers and tomatoes hanging from massive plants with suspended branches. All these beautiful vegetables are available at the shop, but also in many grocery stores across the region. You might even have one of Benjamin’s tomatoes, cucumbers, or lettuces in your fridge right now!
L’huilerie Arôme des champs
At Joany’s place, sunflowers reign supreme! The harvest is processed right on the farm: the oil is cold-pressed on site, and the seeds are shelled with a state-of-the-art machine—also on site. The result? Products of exceptional quality, fresh and full of flavor. You can’t get more local than that!
Joany’s shop also offers vinegars, ciders, beers, wines, flours, grains, and maple products—all sourced from local producers.
If you stop by at the end of summer, the sunflower fields will be in full bloom. It’s an absolutely breathtaking sight. You can even stand next to one for scale—chances are these giant flowers will tower several heads above you!
Ferme de la colline du chêne
How about a self-serve stand nestled in a postcard-perfect setting? La Ferme de la colline du chêne is located in the heart of a peaceful valley along Chemin du Lac Gale, a truly magical spot surrounded by rolling green hills as far as the eye can see.
The cooperative grows around fifty varieties of certified organic vegetables, all available at the stand. You can also stock up on products from neighboring farms: eggs, berries, mushrooms, flowers, honey, cheeses, and much more.
You might catch the employees restocking the self-serve fridges with freshly picked vegetables. The whole system works on trust—you enter your items at the register and handle your own payment! It’s simple, efficient, and beyond charming, all while allowing the staff to be where they matter most: out in the fields!
L’Épicerie Futée
Located in the heart of Old-Bromont, this socially conscious grocery store is packed with fresh products and bulk foods. You’ll find non-GMO fruits and vegetables, as well as everything you need for a complete grocery shop, all sourced through short supply chains.
It’s our go-to stop for cashews, nutritional yeast, almonds, and especially… the famous dark chocolate-covered coffee beans. You can bring your own containers, and the team will take care of the rest! Speaking of which, the staff at L’Épicerie Futée are truly wonderful—you’re always greeted with a smile!
