Where to stock up on fresh and local products in Bromont

Ferme de la Colline du Chêne

Ferme de la Colline du Chêne is a pioneer in Bromont. The solidarity co-op, founded in 2009 by four families, is working to preserve the farming vocation of its lands, by prioritizing local and organic farming practices, with a focus on ensuring the sustainability of agriculture for future generations.

The co-op produces a wide variety of certified organic field- and greenhouse-grown vegetables. Its self-service kiosk offers fruits, eggs, vegetables, baked goods, meats, oils, flowers, honey, dumplings, and cheese. “We recently added about forty local products. Our kiosk is a one-stop shop,” says founding member Denis Gagné.

The kiosk is located on Gale Lake Road and a popular stop for gravel cyclists craving a tasty snack. It’s also a great way to meet and chat with the farm’s working and founding members.

“We’re incredibly proud of this growing collective project. Our new cohort of farmers – Martine, Frédérique, and Virginie – is now in its second season. They’ve made the kiosk more enticing than ever with a variety of high-quality local products,” says Gagné.

Huilerie l’Arôme des champs : Organic sunflower oil

The farm rotates crops through six varieties: soy, corn, mixed grains (oats, wheat and peas), spelt, wheat, and sunflower. Pick up flours from these organic grains in the boutique, along with cold-pressed and naturally decanted oils.

Domaine Muscadine : Elk and bison meat

A breeding farm offering a wide selection of local products, prepared meals, and several cuts of elk, bison, rabbit, Highland beef, and pork. Visit the farm’s Elk Interpretation Centre to learn more about this majestic animal.

Ferme Folie Douce : Rhubarb juice

Rhubarb’s acidity pairs beautifully with many spirits and will add a zingy zest to any cocktail or mocktail. Also try the rhubarb jams, compotes, and ketchup. Their products are available at Si petit Soit-Il, Épicerie Fûtée and Ferme de la Colline du Chêne.
