Alexandra Diaz is an author, host, and producer. She also happens to be a huge fan and collaborator of BALNEA – in fact, she’s been a frequent guest since the spa’s early days. Here’s how she gives body and mind a much-needed break.
What draws you to BALNEA?
The turnkey experience. I’m taken care of from the moment I arrive. I can let go and just be. I love being in nature, far from the city noise. The views and secluded setting are stunning. I regularly bring my teens along to pass on the importance of self-care.
What’s your typical visit ritual?
I go for thermotherapy and treatments. The thermal experience takes you through the hot-cold-relaxation cycle. I also always treat myself to a gourmet break at the restaurant. The produce is grown right on-site. It doesn’t get more local than that.
And your favourite treatments?
Getting a massage that integrates stretches based on what my body needs at that moment. My skin also loves the head-to-toe omega 3 exfoliation.
What’s your preferred time of year to visit BALNEA?
I try to visit at least once each season to see the changing nature, but I have a soft spot for summer. I’m Chilean, so heat is my thing! I initially resisted the cold baths, but once I understood the benefits I managed to overcome the discomfort. I’ve actually come to enjoy it!
