Soraï is a queer Montreal-based artist and beatmaker bringing a fresh perspective to today’s hip-hop scene. With her bold artistic identity, original musicality, refined visual aesthetic, and intelligent, playful, and sensual lyrics, she stands out as a true innovator. Proud to oversee every step of her creative process—from writing to production—she crafts her own musical universe entirely solo in her studio.

In April 2023, Soraï confidently released her debut single, Pansements, an unconventional rap track with an offbeat flow and rhythm. By September, she followed up with Pas d’humeur, blending trap-based rap, bossa nova guitar, and synthesizers. This track earned her the title of iHeartRadio Future Star of the Month for October on Rouge FM. Next came Caramel, a collaboration with fellow queer Montreal artist Xela Edna, and on January 26, she dropped her final single before her album launch, Wasabi, a collaboration with La Monarque.

On March 1, 2024, Soraï unveils her debut album, Synesthésies. Entirely self-produced, this album is the culmination of two eventful years filled with highs, lows, introspection, and surprises. To create a vibrant and dynamic experience, Soraï collaborated with notable artists such as Mantisse, Xela Edna, and La Monarque. The album also presents a unique concept: each track is associated with a specific color, akin to the colorful halos Soraï vividly perceives while writing. This kaleidoscopic experience is enhanced by monochromatic visuals, immersing listeners in her artistic vision.

Synesthésies is much more than a debut album for Soraï. It’s a direct portal into the life of a young queer feminist artist from Montreal, determined to bring diversity to the Quebec music scene with this promising and trailblazing project.

The show will take place at the Le St-John an architectural gem built between 1882-85 and transformed into a hub for the arts and culture.
