Where to enjoy mountain biking in Bromont

21 May 2024

Bromont is mountain biking territory. Just look at the Parc des Sommets and Bromont, montagne d’expérience (aka BME). Where else can you find two awesome side-by-side sites to enjoy your favourite sport?

We asked Marie-Christine Daignault, coach and editor of Racines mountain biking magazine, what makes the duo’s 150 km of trails so special. Here’s what she had to say.

Parc des Sommets

Mont Oak network: keeping cross-country accessible

Beginner and intermediate: 18 trails | 17 km

“This awesome network is right in the heart of Bromont. All the trails are near the new welcome pavilion and the low climb and progressive Devinci skills area make great use of the natural terrain.”

Daignault’s top trail: Oural les hauteurs, for its technical rock surface climbs.

Mountain network: a haven for enduro junkies

Groupe de vélos de montagne, Bromont

Intermediate to expert: 45 trails | 60 km

“It’s a paradise of natural tracks blending fast sections and technical challenges. The switchbacks and handcrafted rockwork are exceptional. You’ll need calves to climb to the enduro area. Or you can buy a “Enduro” lift ticket for the day – the site is adjacent to BME, and can be accessed from the chairlift.”

Daignault’s top trail: Shamouraï for its flow, tight turns, and freedom to get creative. Just getting there is a reward after the challenging Aninja climb and its many switchbacks.

Bromont, montagne d’expériences

Somment de Bromont, Montagne d'expériences en vélo

Beginner to expert: 30 trails | 50 km | 4 mechanical lifts

“BME has been a pioneer in high-calibre downhill in Quebec. The new beginner and intermediate trails make downhill more accessible than ever, and the bike school is a great way to get started and progress safely. Make P5 your base camp. From May through July, there are Thursday bike evenings at the Versant du Lac. Lifts run until 8 pm, and there’s a food truck and entertainment with a laid-back vibe.”

Daignault’s top trail: Extra-Light (5), for its fluidity and accessibility.

“Don’t try to do it all in one day. But one day will be enough to convince you to come back.”
