The R.C. Jazz Sextet, veterans of the biggest stages, takes you back to the golden age of hard bop: vibrant jazz with gospel and blues flavours, at the Espace culturel St. John on April 30, 2026!

This group brings together six musicians with exceptional résumés: the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Dièse Onze, European and Canadian tours, collaborations with Cavalia, Cirque du Soleil, Gilles Vigneault, and more, along with several albums and numerous television and radio appearances (Quand le Jazz est Là).

The R.C. Jazz Sextet revisits a pivotal era in jazz history: hard bop. Driven by renewed energy, this style was born from the meeting of bop with gospel and blues. The result is a deeply “groovy” music that’s anything but “hard,” despite what the name suggests.
