“Whenever I chat with friends about where to go golfing, Bromont is always at the top of the list,” says Max Lalonde, well-known Quebec TV and radio sports host. Lalonde has played the region’s greens on multiple occasions but says the courses in Bromont are his favourites.
Royal Bromont : stunning views
“The early-season greens conditions are fantastic, and the exceptional design makes it the most beautiful golf course in the region,” says Lalonde. “It’s open to everyone and fun for all levels.”
Lalonde also loves the elegant clubhouse and gastronomic experience at the Cellier du Roi.
“The 10th hole is one of my favorites in Quebec,” says Lalonde, who’s also the spokesperson for the Golf Is Calling (Sortez, golfez) campaign. “It’s a par 4 that can be done in one! I also love the varied panoramas. The first four holes are in a more urban setting, then you hit the breathtaking mountain views.”
Old Village Course : best-kept secret
“Without a doubt the best-kept and most delightful secret in the Eastern Townships. An extremely well-maintained course that challenges you right from the start – you have to rethink your use of clubs,” Lalonde warns. “The greens are vast and the surroundings are spectacular. The shop is second to none, even compared to specialized stores; you can find anything you need.”
Golf Château-Bromont : championship course
A course with top-notch facilities hosting major competitions. The recent renovations have made it a must-play course all season long among amateur golfers. “I love the 16th hole with its superb view of the mountain and the Château-Bromont. It’s a destination course that makes even passing visitors feel like members.”
Lalonde says Bromont is definitely worth visiting – whether you’re craving great golf, great food, or the great outdoors.
